Patch Reef Fishing is still on fire in Key West

Nice YellowTail snapper and Yellow Jack on the patch reefs

In the Keys, our fishing is heavily influenced by our seasons.  In the colder months, fish tend to move into shallower water that can be a little bit warmer in the winter.  Ocean water has a very high heat capacity, so we won’t usually see our waters start to really warm up until the second week in May, meaning that the fish who moved shallow are usually still around.  We call this type of fishing patch reef fishing.  It is almost always very productive and perfect for the halfday family fun charter.  We don’t have to make long runs, allowing you to get a good amount of fishing and value on your 4 hour trip.  The fishing is perfect for younger anglers who want to bend rods and for the family of beginners.  If you’re interested in a family fun half day trip in Key West, Pls give me a call 305-304-2221.
